A Closer Look | My Monogram Necklace

Pretty much anyone with eyes knows that I wear my silver 'Tania' name necklace every day of my life. And with every outfit I own. I love having a piece of jewellery that is a bit more unique to me.
So when the lovely people over at My Name Necklace got in touch and asked if I would like to pick something from their website I practically squealed with delight. No exaggerations there, my boyfriend can vouch for that fact!

After a browse of thier pretty extensive collection of jewellery I opted to go for a necklace. They also do rings, bracelets and anklets in case you were wondering.
As a rule I only ever wear silver jewellery so I skipped over the other materials available but after going back to research for this post they basically have it all. You can opt for gold, silver, plastic or even diamonds if you like!

As I already have my 'Tania' necklace I chose the three initial Monogram Necklace. I decided to use my 3 initials which are T, M and H. I was quoted 2-3 weeks for delivery but it arrived so much faster than that. It also comes in really lovely packaging which would make giving it as a gift really easy as it already comes looking like a little wrapped present!

And as you can see in the last picture its just the right length and compliments my other necklaces perfectly. I can honestly say I haven't had it off since I recived it.

I may or may not have my eye on a couple of others...

Outfit | Cos Galore

Top: Cos
Cardigan: Cos
Jeans: Topshop
Boots: Kurt Geiger
Bag: Vintage
Necklaces: Vivienne Westwood, Argos, My Name Necklace
Rings: Vivienne Westwood, Accessorize, Vintage
Stupid Expression: My Own

I was lucky enough to receive a few cos vouchers for my birthday last week. These are two of the pieces that I snapped up. Can we just acknowledge that neither of them are black?! BIG step for me.
I couldn't not get this cardigan as soon as I saw it it the shop I was drawn straight to it. Its lovely despite the fact that it leaves a trail of green fluff everywhere I go but its worth it as it really is so soft and cosy.

Still finding outfit pictures rather comical. Not sure I will ever get used to it but hey ho!

Photo Diary | Window Shopping

Just a few snaps from the past weekend. We spent our sunday wandering around the shops with my parents and twin sister who were visiting to celebrate our 22nd birthday.
When my mum is visiting I take it as an excuse to go to the slightly more upmarket shopping area that is the south lanes. Essentially just shops that are a bit more grown up and expensive than my usual retail locations of choice. Cos and Mac were most definitely visited!
I also did my sister nails. The picture I took of them really doesn't make them look great but in real life they did look rather nice. She liked them anyway.
And just to explain the last shot of me and my boyfriend. He is growing that stuff on his face for movember. He has done it the past three years so I am kind of used to it by now but I do still think it looks rather comical. If you do fancy taking a little look at his movember page feel free!

Photo Diary | The Chilli Pickle

As a treat for our (upcoming) birthday, my sister and I chose to go to the Chilli Pickle for our celebratory meal.
I have always heard great things about this restaurant from pretty much everyone I know in Brighton. So this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try it out.
I can whole heartedly agree with everyone else's rave reviews. This is how all Indian restaurants should be. Nothing like just your standard curries and rice. Their dishes are packed with seriously amazing flavours and tasty combinations of ingredients. I had the lamb tandoori platter and would order it again in a heartbeat.
The puddings are definitely not to be sniffed at either, I opted for the chocolate and orange pot. It may have looked small but it was the perfect amount as it had such a rich creamy consistency.

If you live in Brighton or are planning a visit then definitely give this place a visit. Be warned you will need to make a reservation of you are thinking of going on a weekend as we saw dozens of people be turned away who hadn't already booked.
Its popular for a reason!

Photo Diary | Northerners Down South

I've managed to unearth some more forgotten photos from the summer. My boyfriend and I went to London for the day to meet up with some friends we used to work with back home in Edinburgh.
Its rather unheard of for us all to be in the same city at once seeing that we are spread all around the country, so we jumped at the chance to catch up.

That meant excessive amounts of shopping and copious amounts of food. We spent most of our time around the Carnaby Street area and I think I may have fallen in love with the Cheap Monday shop. If it was possible to live in a retail location thats where I would choose! I had to be forcibly removed by my friends as I was taking so long looking at everything and holding up our quest for lunch.

A burger and a brownie later the shopping was resumed. We had to do our best to convince Maz that buying the 'I heart Justin Beiber' jumper was not the wisest of investments. Luckily she listened to reason and didn't take it home with her.

It would have made quite the souvenir. But i would have loved to see her sporting it back in glasgow!

Outfit | MinkPink Dress

Dress: Minkpink
Sandals: Topshop
Backpack: Vintage
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
Jacket: Vintage Levi's
Bracelets: H&M and Cos

It seems a bit ridiculous putting up such a summery outfit now. Seeing as its freezing and wet at the moment. I'm just going to pretend I'm not wrapped up in a blanket on my sofa while its blowing a gail outside and dream of warmer weather.
This is from when I was in London meeting up with some friends for the day. My iphoto is so overloaded with pictures I managed to completely overlook these and some other photos from a few months ago.
As you can see It was hot enough for bare legs but raining at the same time. Which is a bit bizarre but thats a british summer for you. I was a bit laden down with stuff before I even bought anything. And as you can see from the Urban Outfitters bag I did end up doing a spot of shopping. And when I say a spot I mean far too much.
Always seems to happen when ever I go to London, my self control goes right out the window. I then end up having to sheepishly return half of it when I get back to brighton.
I never learn.

Nails| Polka Dots

I took about a thousand photos of these nails. They just do not show up in pictures very well.
I started with O.P.I's Alpine Snow and then layered up a few coats of an Accessorize glitter. In my opinion it really isn't much to rave about. It took a lot of layers to get any visible coating of glitter. Also it has no name, just the label 'Shade 33'. I really hate it when brands do this. I will be the first to admit I love the names brands like Models Own, OPI and Essie give polishes and giving it a number seems lazy and just makes it forgettable.
Anyway to make the white glittery base more interesting I added polka dots using Models Own Black Magic.
Black on white always seems to illicit the most comments and compliments from people. Such graphic colours always catch people eye but using a dotting tool designs like this are just so easy to do.
