I may or may not have gone a little mad with the dotting tool on these! I was reading the amazing Beauty Deparment blog and their latest nail post inspired me to create this spotty design.
The top picture is the only one I managed to snap before heading off to work. If anyone you work in shops or have to use touch screen tills regularly you will know what they do to nail polish. Even being super carful I still ended up with some wear on the tips but luckily no chips!
For the Base I used Models Own 'Peacock Green'. It is a very dark green in the bottle but it takes a good few coats to get it this colour. I would reccomend layering it over a darker more pigmented polish in black or dark blue to get a true representation of the shade.
For the outer ring of spots I opted for Sally Hansen 'Green Tea' and for the inner O.P.I's 'Alpine Snow'. This was rather detailed in intself but for me it just wasnt quite enough. So I went over the outer ring with the Peacock Green with smaller dots and then did the same on top of the white with the Sally Hansen Green Tea polish.
I think they ended up looking like miniture mosaics, that or from farther away like really strange little eyes.
They are very simple to create all you need is a steady hand, a dotting tool and some patience.
