New Additions | Nike Air Safari

Nike Aire Safari Leather Trainers - size?

Say hello to my new babies. These are a belated Christmas present from my mum. She very kindly bought me some Dr Marten Shoes at Christmas time but the fit was just all wrong and after trying on all the shoes in Dr Marten shop in covent Garden I decided that maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

Instead I opted for a completely different style of footwear and went for these 'Nike Air Safari' Trainers in the Black/Grey/Pink colourway. I had been looking at them for a while after a colleague of mine (Dan you know I mean you) had them in the blue colour combination I fell in love. These are probably as close as you can get to all black in this style and I was initially putt off by the neon pink accents but I am warming to them now.

I had never considered myself a trainer type person but first it was my Reeboks and now these. I may or may not be considering my next pair...

Outfit | Black and Blue

T-shirt: Urban Outfitters
Jacket : Hide x Urban Outfitters
Jeans: Topshop Jamie
Socks: Primark
Trainers: Reebok
Bag: Vinatge
Glasses: Ray-Ban
Necklaces: Argos and Vivienne Westwood
Rings: Vintage, Accessorize and Beau and Arrow

Stop the press I am wearing blue jeans. Blue jeans! I only own the one pair and on the odd occasion I get bored of donning all black I will mix things up and throw them on in the morning.
Hardly newsworthy but what more can you really say about an outfit such as this?

The t-shirt is a real old one from UO in the sale from when I was working there in Edinburgh. I wear it backwards for a higher neckline and as its so baggy it really doesn't affect the fit.
My jacket is also an UO sale buy.  I am a stickler for waiting until things get reduced. I rarely buy at full price if I can avoid it. Providing the item doesn't sell out it will eventually at some point go to sale. It just involves a bit of a waiting game.

Everything else is pretty much the usual. I haven't left the house in any shoes other than these for weeks. I never thought I would be a trainer kind of person but they are just so comfortable I don't want to wear anything else.
If a pair of smart looking boots with a pointed toe exist in the world  that are as comfy as my Reeboks I would buy them in a heartbeat. For now I will just have to settle for looking a bit scruffy.

A Closer Look | Mac Soft and Gentle Dupe

As we all know I am no beauty blogger but I wanted to share with you this little dupe I have found. Now the shades are not exactly the same but they are pretty similar.

So you may or may not know I am a little obsessed with highlighters. I am constantly on the look out for that perfect one. After a couple of months of admiring from afar, I bit the bullet and bought the Mac mineralise skin finish in 'Soft and Gentle'.
Mine unfortunately does not look like the the pretty picture on the Mac website as I dropped it after having it for about 5 days and smashed it to pieces. With some pure alcohol I managed to smush it back together. It doesn't effect the use of it it just doesnt look as nice.
Mac describe it as a 'Gilded Peach Bronze'. I do love the shade but at £21.50 for 10g Its not cheap.

This is where the Elf baked Blush in 'Pinktastic' comes in. I love Elf products and nearly always end up purchasing something when they send out those free shipping emails. It was one of those emails that lead to me picking up this little number. It costs a mere £3.75 for 6g of product. Despite the low price I think the quality is up to par with its Mac rival.

As you can see from the swatches, soft and gentle comes up more peachy and on me slightly (only a teeny tiny bit) orange when on my face (yes I am THAT pale). I actually prefer the slightly pinker shade of the Elf blush and I have found from using them both that they wear exactly the same and both last all day on me.

I thought I would share my findings and if you are thinking of getting Soft and Gentle but are on a budget then I would definitely recommend Pinktastic.
Even if you aren't get it anyway!

Photo Diary | Wahaca Take Two

I was in London last week to see my Mum who was visiting from Scotland. She suggested Wahaca for dinner and I certainly wasn't going to object. I've been once before and if you fancy reading me gush about it even more then you can find the post here.

It was even better this time as I could take full advantage of not having to pick up the bill! My greediness aside the food was fantastic. I think its great having a few small dishes instead on massive plate of just one thing.

The covent garden restaurant has also had a little sprucing up. It is nothing major that I could notice from last time but I'm pretty sure that there was some new art on he walls and whatnot.
Only negative was as it was super busy there was an almighty chilly draft from the door from people constantly coming in and out. My Mum and friend all agreed that it was just a bit too cold. It was a very cold night so not surprising but it was a bit of a pain.

All that said it wasn't a big issue and it definitely wouldn't stop me going back. The food is just too good. And if you are planning a visit then get the Churos. They are delicious.

Outfit | Oversized Waffle

Jumper: Asos
Black Vest: Urban Outfitters
Grey Vest: H&M
Black Trousers: H&M
Trainers: Reebok
Name Necklace: Argos
Glasses : Ray-Ban

Are my facial expressions improving?! Someone please say yes.
I finished uni early today as I have been supremely organised and completed my practical work ahead of schedule. (I am as shocked as you!)

In celebration I decided to attempt the make friends with the self timer on my camera again. I am wearing two new purchases which I actually only acquired yesterday. This jumper is what Asos have called the 'oversized waffle sweatshirt' which I find a little too amusing. It was on sale on for a mere £10.50 so I felt I had to snap it up. If you are considering it, I wouldn't order a size up as I foolishly did. My need for baggy clothes knows no bounds, even when the term 'oversized' is in the title.

My trousers are also a new addition. They are a bit of a trouser/jogging bottom hybrid. Very comfy and I think rather nice. I have been fancying something other than jeans for a while and these fit the bill perfectly. Expect to see these babies a lot more in future.

Nails | Half Moon

After having a rummage through the forgotten depths of my nail varnish collection I surfaced with OPI 'My Private Jet'. I got this little beauty when I was in America nearly two years ago now. I think the formulation of OPI polished are brilliant but I often overlook this one because its brown and doesn't look much in the bottle.

On the nails it is much more interesting, a shimmery browny/silver with tiny flecks of holographic glitter. Sounds like a right mouthful but really it is something special. To bring out the silver aspect of the polish I decided to try out doing half moons around the cuticle area of the nail. For this I used Orly 'Dazzle'. I picked this up in a random set in T.K Maxx and had pretty much forgotten about it. As silvers go its nothing special but not bad either.

Before doing these nails I had never attempted doing little semi circles free hand before. And I don't think I will be trying it again in the near future. It was SO blooming fiddly trying to make them even  or remotley symmetrical. Next time I will definitely use a guide or some stickers to achieve the effect.
But I will certainly try this out in with some more colour combinations. To me it feels a bit more sophisticated and grown up than some of the other designs I've done. Or maybe its just my love for 'My Private Jet'!

Outfit | MM6

Coat: Whistles
Hoodie : Cheap Monday
Dress : MM6 by Maison Martin Margiela
Riding Pants: American Apparel
Boots: Dr Marten
Back Pack: Herschel
Glasses: Ray-Ban

What I choose to wear on a cold day doesn't seem to change much. A baggy top half and lots of layers with a big old coat and boots.
My lovely friend Meg snapped these after Uni last week. Hence my rather large backpack that I cart around all my weave bits and bobs in. The only new thing here is my dress by MM6 by Maison Martin Margiela. I picked it up in the sale at Urban Outfitters just before christmas and have been wearing it quite a lot since. Its probably more the appropriate length to be considered a dress but I have been wearing it over leggings or jeans instead. I can't stand wearing tights especially not during cold weather, for me comfort and warmth always come first!
