Today is the Day | Life

So it is finally happening. Today is the day I move to New York. I still can't believe its actually real.
I uploaded a video yesterday with more details.

I'm now getting ready to leave for the airport. See you in NY!

Outfit | Vivienne Westwood Dress

Dress: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania
Shorts: Asos
Shoes - Aldo (post) (Dupes Post)
Glasses: Ray-Ban
Necklace: Argos
Watch: Calvin Klein
Rings: Accessorize, Vintage, Street Seller and Bill Skinner Studio

I really have lost the plot now. I am wearing red. I give up.
I got this top/dress in the sale section in Urban Outfitters, otherwise Vivienne Westwood clothing of any kind is not usually within my price range. I am a sucker for VW jewellery and when I saw this hanging alone on the sale rail I knew I had to have it.

Its not exactly subtle and is nothing like what I usually wear, but it has a familiar baggy shape so that made the shock of wearing such a bold colour slightly easier!

Its rather pathetic how hard I find wearing colour so one step at a time, and for me this a pretty big one!

A Closer Look | House Of Rush Salon

Hair Cut and Colour and The House of Rush*

On tuesday was lucky enough to be invited along to The House of Rush to have my hair cut and coloured. I am very neglectful of my hair so I jumped at the chance for a bit of pre New York pampering!

The House of Rush is the flagship hair and beauty salon for Rush Hair. It is super central, located at 200 Piccadilly, London.

My appointment was with the lovely Isabella. After a chat about my hair and what I wanted from the colour we decided on a full head of highlights using two different shades of blonde. I wanted to stay within the shade family I already had but just brighten it up and make my hair look a whole lot more presentable!

Isabella talked me through everything and made me feel really at ease with the whole process. I don't get my hair done often (out of sheer laziness) but I really enjoyed chatting with her and all the staff where really friendly.
As the flagship, the salon offers a lot more than just hair. It is a real one stop shop, offering a full range of beauty treatments from manicures and pedicures to lash extensions, hair removal, mens grooming and even fillers and Botox.
Their list of treatments is seriously impressive. There is pretty much any beautifying service avalbile to you all in the same salon.

For my cut I just asked Isabella to tidy up my ends and make everything a bit neater. It now feels so much healthier just having the straggly ends taken off.

I am so pleased with the colour and my overall experience at The House of Rush. I can't thank Isabella enough for the amazing job she did and to Rush for treating me with my now fab looking hair!

New York here I come!

New Additions | eBay Makeup Brushes

I have had my eye on the much talked about real techniques make-up brushes for well, ever. I don't know what it is that stopped me picking them up but I just never really got around to it.

I saw this set of brushes mentioned on a beauty blog (which I now can't for the life of me find to link back to) and I thought I would give them a go.

At £12.99 I wasn't expecting a huge amount but I am honestly very impressed! I have never owned any of the real techniques brushes so I couldn't comment on how the quality compares but these are incredibly soft and do the job pretty damn well!

I have been using them for over a week and have washed them once so far and they have held up just fine. They come in the gold colour I have which you can see in the picture above, aswell as blue and also pink.

I can't recommend them enough for those on a budget. Or not, after all you can never have too many makeup brushes!

Outfit | Cos Dress

Dress: Cos
Cycle Shorts (unseen) : Asos
Shoes - Aldo (post) (Dupes Post)
Glasses: Ray-Ban
Necklace: Argos
Watch: Calvin Klein
Rings: Accessorize, Vintage, Street Seller and Bill Skinner Studio

A Dress? Pattern? Colour? Print?! Who am I?
I have not lost my mind. Not yet anyway.
I was in Glasgow a couple of weeks ago and I found this beauty in Cos. I managed to rationalise it by telling myself I will need some smarter more grown up attire for when I am working in New York.
In reality I just really liked it and I can see myself wearing it loads!

Its pretty simple but still interesting and for my own piece of mind/ocd I had to wear my Asos cycling shorts underneath. Its not very short but I am paranoid about wind/bending over/ having to pay any attention to such things.
I will definitely be packing this for NYC.
