A Closer Look | Rimmel Apocalips Across the Universe and Eclipse Swatches

Rimmel Apocalips in Across the Universe and Eclipse

When the Apocalips first came out my first thought was why no dark shades?! They where initially a spring/summer  product release so it was't all that surprising that they saved the darker tones for release in autumn.

Usually I am not a big lip colour/lipstick fan. But I bought The Apocalips in 'Stellar' when they first came out and was really impressed with the colour and also the formula so when I saw these new dark shades I ordered them straight away.

My favourite of the two is probably 'Across the Universe'. Its a deep brick red that is incredibly pigmented. 'Eclipse' is good and is a really lovely berry toned dark red. But as you can see from the picture it applied slightly patchy in places. But really only very slightly.
I think to achieve a fully opaque colour with this one the best method would be to apply a couple of thin coats and blot in between as opposed to just applying one coat of the product.

There are a few more new shades other than just these two, there will be five in all. They are released in stores on the 4th of September (or so I have been told) but you can find then online already here for the bargain price of £5.50.

  2. That's such good news about the dark shades, I was similarly disappointed in the Apocalips for that reason.
