Where to find me

Whishlist | Christmas

I have the reputation in my family for being impossible to buy for. I would like to think its just because I am very discerning and with great taste but in reality I'm just very picky!
I also have an irrational hatred for any bath or body products, which tend to be most peoples go-to gifts for girls. Coupled with being really fussy I know I am a difficult customer.

So here are some things I would love to receive this christmas!

New Additions | Makeup Revolution Palettes

Ultra Contour in Light

I only went into Superdrug for a replacement collection concealer and ended up with these two beauties. With no prior planning, and without reading any reviews, I grabbed them.

I partially blame the 3 for 2 deal they have going on but the purchase can really be attributed to my weakness for makeup palettes and the fact these are only £6 each. Yes thats right, £6!

I don't know what it is but I am always drawn to palettes and having heard good things about the Makeup Revolution brand from Jane over at British Beauty Blogger I felt confident picking them up.
I haven't used them yet but from swatching the testers in store I cant wait to try them out.

Wishlist | Current Loves

Boots, Black coat and silver jewellery is pretty much me summed up one post.
Ive been lusting after all these items for a while now.
I tried the coat on in Cos in London with me mum a few weeks ago and left is behind thinking I would be able to find something similar elsewhere but for less money, apparently not! I cant find anything else that matches up to it.
The jewellery is much more attainable as the price is much less but the boots and coat are what I just can't get out of my head.

Its my birthday in two weeks so hopefully if I save a bit I will  be able to splurge on at least one pair then.

A Closer Look | All About Brows

e.l.f eyebrow kit in Ash
Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoo in Permanent Taupe
Mac eyeshadow in Omega
Kiko Infinity eyeshadow in 239 Mat Gray Taupe
Maybelline Brow Drama in Deep Blonde

Seventeen Angled Eyeliner Brush
Real Techniques Angled Brush (part of a set)

If you have been with me for a while then you may know I am rather obsessed with e.l.f makeup. I love that it is inexpensive but still great quality. My holy grail brow product has always been the 'Eyebrow Kit' in the colour Ash.
When the UK branch of the elf website closed and stopped distribution (it is now back up and running) it lead me to search for more readily available products.

Cool toned brow products can be a little more tricky to find if you aren't willing to fork out nearly £20 for a brow powder (I'm looking at you Anastasia Beverly Hills). But more and more brands are bringing out wider colour ranges and it has lead to me having a few that I want to share.

Aside from the Mac shadow, which I did purchase in duty free, all of the other products are less than £6 and pretty easy to get your hands on.

In terms of application I start with a either the wax from the e.l.f kit or the Maybelline colour tattoo applied with the real techniques brush, followed by a powder using the slightly thicker angled brush from seventeen. Then the brow gel/mascara to fix it all in place.

I prefer to use separate brushes for each stage as it means you get a sharper more precise line and quite honestly you can wash the brushes slightly less often if one brush isn't getting clogged up with both wax and a powder. Lazy or what?!

I get a little bit obsessed with brow products as I think well groomed eyebrows make such a big difference to your face. So if you have any other recommendations I would love to hear them.

Wishlist | Oversized Tote

1. Asos 2. Rains

This seems like quite a sensible wish list, I mean as they go. I don't NEED anything new but I have had my eye on a bag like one of these for a while.
I travel quite a lot, not to anywhere glamorous or particular exciting I might add. My family are spread around all different parts of the UK. So I often find myself on short trips to various places.
I have a small suitcase but for an overnight stay or weekend it seems a little excessive so I have been on the lookout for an alternative.

Im currently leaning towards the Rains bag or the leather tote from Urban Outfitters. Admittedly I do work for Urban so staff discount is a definite factor in my decision making. But regardless they are the two that I like the best, it just makes them a little more affordable to me.

I haven't posted in so long I really struggled to get my thoughts down in any semi coherent manor.
Hopefully with more regular posting I'll remember how to construct a sentence!

New Video | Everyday Makeup Routine

Im not sure why in the past I've always kept my blog and youtube very separate. It only occurred to me that I could start posting new videos to my blog as well. And in future have photography an and/or a post accompanying videos if I so wish.

Over four years of blogging and this is where I am at people! Making huge new discoveries every day!

This is an updated makeup routine just showing what I do with my face most days.

Let me know what you think of my groundbreaking new idea of integrating blogging and youtube content!

Urban Outfitters (link and they are on sale!)

So here it finally is, my final collection. The past week since I finished has been so busy with graduate fashion week and of course a few celebration that its taken me a really long time to get around to posting this. And honestly I was a bit scared to do it. It feels so personal like I'm exposing myself a little a bit but I had to get over myself and stop being stupid! Ive never been one to shout about my work or put it online but now that its all done expect a few more posts after this one as I do want to share it.

My degree was in textiles and there was no actual requirement to produce garments but that was always my aim.
I designed and wove the fabrics, had the fabric professionally dyed and finished, designed the garment shapes and worked with my very talented friend Horace Ng to create the patterns. Then only after all that they were sewn up into the seven garments you can see here. There are seven in total, more than I has originally planed but I had quite a lot of fabric to work with so it meant I could create more and it seemed a shame to waste it.
There are two pairs of trousers, two T-shirts, a dress and two bra tops in all in different fabrics.

And thanks for sticking around while I was absent, Im very excited to get back to blogging over the summer!

Life | On Pause

So it doesn't take a genius to realise I've been pretty absent form all of my online spaces.
I'm currently in the the few months of my final year of my textiles degree. I thought my blogging and youtube presence and posting frequency would go down but that was somewhat naive.

I don't think I have ever been this stressed, busy, sleep deprived and mentally and physically worn out. Not even when I was interning during fashion week in New York with no days off for a month!
To say that my uni work is consuming my life would be somewhat of an understatement. It is my entire life right now.

I am not the first nor will I be the last person to go to university and I know a lot of bloggers who managed to keep a regular schedule while studying and seriously well done. I don't know how you did it because I can't even fathom it being a possibility.

I chose not to post about or show any of my textile work online until after the degree show. I just didn't want any images out there until I was 100% sure of my collection and the direction it was going to take.

I am really proud of what I am working on and I can't wait to share it all with you when I am finished.
The end is near and I'm excited and terrified and so sad that I wont be a student for much longer but at 24 years old its probably abut time I join the real world!

Also I wanted to say thank you for still sticking around! For being so understanding and supportive even though I have been the worst for long breaks and silences. I love blogging and I miss it so much.

Fingers crossed everything from now until the 26th of May (my final hand in date) stays somewhat on track. But I'll just be happy with just no major disasters!
