New Additions | A.P.C. Demi Lune

Purse: Cos

Isn't it pretty?! Currently I may or may not be gazing lovingly across the room at my new bag...
I know i sound unhinged but I am suffering with a cold so I'm blaming my slightly odd behaviour on exhaustion and being a bit delirious.
Anyway back to the bag, it happened to be my birthday this week and my boyfriend was kind enough to surprise me with this bag and purse.

I first saw the A.P.C. Demi Lune bag when we were in New York a few weeks ago. I walked past a girl who was wearing it and basically it looked so great that I needed to have a look at the bag for my self. She was super stylish and I was sure that if I wore the bag then I would look equally as chic as she did. (Please tell me I'm not the only person who thinks like that?!)
So I went on a little jaunt to the A.P.C. shop on Mercer St in Soho, dragging my boyfriend along too, had a look at it, loved it, looked at the price tag and swiftly put it down.

Well fast forward to my birthday and look what he presented me with. Along with the bag he also go me a very cute little purse from Cos to go with it. I have an unnecessarily large purse, which is usually not an issue as my handbags that I use on a daily basis are always on the giant size as well. But unsurprisingly my everyday purse won't even fit into this bag never mind leave space for anything else, so he wisely he got me a smaller card holder/wallet hybrid to use with it.

Now I just need to streamline my makeup bag and declutter all those other unnecessary things I seem to cart around with me but never actually use or need!

New Nails | Nail Lounge & Spa

All by Sotira at 'Nail Lounge & Spa'

This post is long overdue, and I mean really long! I started getting my nails done by Sotira exactly a year ago, (yes I checked, thanks for the date stamps Instagram).
And I have had many different incarnations of colours and lengths, with extensions and without but I can say now I wouldn't go to anyone else for all things nails related.

Sotira really is amazing at what she does, I started with her getting gel extensions and never had one issue, they lasted really well and I kept them up for a fair few months. And I would like to add this was while working in retail, anyone who has worked in a shop knows what a battering your hands take, and I never had any break, ping off or any chips.
I really love the look of super long claws but we all know they aren't hugely practical. Now I just go with gel colour, and I don't know if I could go back to regular nail polish.
As someone who feels naked without my nails painted it's just one less thing to think about. I mean who doesn't want a perfectly shiny finish with no chipping that lasts for weeks?

The main motivation for this post is that Sotira has now opened her own place in Brighton (on London Road) and I couldn't be happier for her. It's newly refurbished and everything is shiny and new!
A lot of people can do nails, and I'm sure many can do them well but she is just so damn lovely and clearly passionate about what she does. I always have such a laugh and a generally really great experience with her. And if you know me  there is nothing I hate more than forced and painful small talk!

I'd like to add that this isn't sponsored and I have always been and will continue to be a paying customer. If someone is great at what they do then more people should know about it! Just don't all rush at once, I still want to be able to get an appointment!

Check them out on Instagram, facebook and their website.

Wishlist | Black leather tote bag

I have been looking for a new everyday/work bag for quite some time. I love my bag inc 'Victoria' bag but I want something a little different.
I hate to admit it has turned into a slight obsession trying to find the perfect black leather tote bag. I knew I was picky but I hadn't realised quite just how specific I was with my requirements!

I am looking for a large but not too large leather tote bag, that preferably has a has a lining, the straps can't be too thin, as I tend to cart around too much stuff and it will get heavy. Inside compartments or pockets are a plus and I would like some sort of closure or zip on the top to protect my items should it rain. I want it to be completely plain, with only a small or ideally no company logo, good quality leather, but without the crazy high designer price tag, and it must be black. Obviously.

Not much to ask right?! Perhaps a bit ridiculous, after all, it is only a bag. But surprisingly I have found a few that fit my unrealistically long list of criteria. Unfortunately both companies currently only ship to the USA and Canada but fortunately for me should I decide to take the plunge I am going to be in New York in a few weeks so I could order one and have it delivered there.

Now if I could only decide between them...

Outfit | Satin bomber jacket

Jacket - Topshop (sold out) similar here and here

Top - urban outfitters (old) similar here
shorts- Asos (old) similar here and here
Shoes - Teva
bag- Bag Inc
sunglasses - Ray-Ban
watch - Nixon
necklace - Argos - similar here
rings - Lisa Angel, Accessorize and vintage

Say hello to my first proper outfit post in a long time. I'm feeling a little rusty but hopefully things will slowly come back to me!

I would also like to add that I haven't gone mad and started wearing loads of colour all of a sudden, (my Instagram can prove that!). But I bought this jacket to wear to a wedding, it matched the dress (outfit post here) and I needed something at short notice

These satin pinky hued bombers are everywhere, and I really could of shopped around a bit more for something cheaper (like I normally would) but I was in a rush getting something to wear and this one was right in front of me in my local Topshop!

I have only worn it a couple of times, as black is my complete and utter safe comfort zone when it comes to clothing but I do like it and even had a couple of compliments when wearing it!

Outfit | Wedding

Dress: Asos
Shoes: New Look
Jacket: Topshop can be seen on (here)

Not the best quality outfit picture, I'll admit.
I went to a wedding with my boyfriend (that's the guy in the picture!) a couple of weeks ago now.
I had planned to take a few more blog friendly pictures of my outfit but the wedding was the first time meeting lot of his extended family and outfit snaps sort of slipped my mind.

I wore the dress with the jacket from my most recent haul video (linked below). It got unexpectedly warm and I didn't really need it but i think it matched the dress quite well.

You may wonder why no black?! I think it may be because someone once told me you can't wear black to weddings, could have been my Mum's influence (she has banned me from wearing black to family events in the past) but I did fancy getting a little dressed up. As I wear all black every day, another shade makes it feel more special.

Don't expect any other colour injections anytime soon but I might just wear the jacket!

New additions | NYX, Kiko, Sleek and Topshop

Kiko - High pigment wet and dry eyeshadow colours 05 and 16
Sleek - Matte me lipstick in Birthday Suit
Topshop - Matte lip bullet in Duvet Day
Maybelline - Brow drama sculpting mascara in transparent

Shall will quickly skip over my notable absence from the blogging world. Its been a while lets just say that! An update video on my YT channel is on its way as to what I've been up to lately.
So for now lets talk makeup! I had planned to post this the day I took the pictures. but that was over a month ago now so its turned into more of a review/haul hybrid.

I've had a bit of an aversion to fashion and clothes in the past few months. I primarily blame no longer working in retail for my constantly shopping but I have just been more drawn to make up instead.

My newest obsession being NYX. I've known about it for a long time but being that there were never any physical stockists int he UK I largely just left it alone.
But I happened to be in Boots the day the NYX stand launched in Brighton and the chances of me leaving without buying were non existent. First on my list was a replacement for my taupe blush. I use this for everything, its one of my most worn makeup items. Its great for pale skin as a contour and I also use it as an eyeshadow. Although the shade name is the same, the actual shade is slightly browner that my original taupe blush thats in the old packaging. I also grabbed another blush in Nude'Tude. I am not a blush wearer, I got this with the intention of using it as an eyeshadow instead.

And I picked up the Prismatic eyeshadow in Girl talk, intending to use it as highlighter!
Its in a tiny pan but the colour is something a bit different. iridescent but with a slight duo chrome effect.

The Matt but not powder foundation is great, Ive used it everyday since purchasing but the HD concealer is a bit of a miss for me. It creased like mad and it dried at least 2 shades darker, leaving my under eyes looking more than a little orange. Not the best look ever!

Kiko is another love of mine of late. They seem to always have a sale on and when they do I seem to always come away with something. I limited myself to just two eyeshadows this time. The high pigment wet and dry shadows in shades 05 and 16. Nothing ground breakingly interesting but completely wearable colours with a bit of shimmer but no glitter.

The Mayeblline brow drama transparent brow gel is another staple, used it daily and I think its great. A very boring product to talk about but I'm a fan!

Last up are lip colours. I don't tend to wear anything other than a clear lip balm, like ever. I find lipstick/gloss/anything to be a total pain and I'm always conscious of it smudging, smearing or feathring all over my face!
The Topshop lip bullet in duvet day was a real fail. The colour is all wrong for me. Something about the tone just made me look a  bit dead.

But the sleek Matt me lipstick in 'Birthday suit' saved the day a little. The colour is subtle and to most other people probably wouldn't notice it but for me its a big step! The formula isn't too drying and its pretty long lasting, doesn't smudge or smear, or really move at all so it does take that fear away.

I won't pretend I don't feel little bit stupid wearing anything on my lips, its like I have a big sign flashing above my head saying this is not something I'm used to and and I'm very self conscious! But the colour is good and I have seen that sleek have released a load more shades in the 'Matte Me' range. I may just check those out too!

New Additions | Topshop Magnificent

Saw these a few months ago, fell in love, bought them, the end.

Its pretty much that simple! I tried these on first time just before my birthday which was in mid November. Thats how long it took me to decide to take the plunge.

It is ridiculous really, because I wouldn't normally think twice about making two smaller purchases separately which would add up to this amount, but for some reason when its a slightly higher price on just one item I get very reluctant to part with my money. And we are only talking about £80, I have no idea how people decide on designer brand purchases that cost hundreds, I bet I'd be agonising over my choice for years!

But back to the boots, the description calls them 'sock boots', they are meant to be very slim on the ankle, unsurprisingly they aren't as slim as that on me. I purchased these in a size 8, I always have to size up from my usually 7 in pointed boots, and on my thin (some have said chicken legs!) there is a little more space around my ankle but I don't really mind. It tends to be what happens for me.
I love the style, the heel height won't be one that I can wear everyday or all day but more and more I prefer to dress up that little bit more when I'm not at work.
I live in trainers as I am on my feet all day so given when I don't have to I want to be wearing items that I love and that give me a bit of separation from what I wear when I'm working.

Thats how I justify it anyway, sometimes you just have to buy the shoes!

Wishlist | Missguided

I've alway been a bit hesitant of Missguided. I like the styles but having never ordered from them as I wasn't sure of the quality of the clothing. Or how the sizing is for that matter. I can fit into a size 8 in most shops but being tall (5'9) I tend to go up to a 10 to make things a little more comfortable.

I still haven't placed an order (hello being broke in January) but am looking to get a few bits. I have been reassured by the lovely Leanne of the quality and to keep en eye on the suede section as its especially good. Thanks Leanne!
This combined with the fact I see other bloggers with their stuff all the time (the advertising is obviously working on me!) I want to try it out.
The price points are really good and to be completely honest I am pretty easily tempted.

These are just a few of the items I've got my eye on. The list will probably have grown by the time I am able to place the order.
The end of January pay day seems a looong way off at the moment, but I am well aware there is nothing I actually NEED just things that I WANT so waiting is of course what I will be doing!

If you have had an experience with Missguided, be that good or bad, Id love to hear about it.

Outfit | Stay Calvin

T-shirt, Calvin Klein
Coat, Cos
Boots, Topshop
Watch, Calvin Klein
Glasses, Ray-Ban
Necklace, Argos, Similar here

I can't even remember the last time I took outfit pictures, let alone wrote a blog post on it. I feel so incredibly rusty with everything! From using my camera and tripod to editing and forming basic sentences! Ha!

I blame working in retail over the christmas period for my brain temporarily having a melt down, Its been a hectic couple of months to say the least. Hopefully I will return to being at least semi coherent soon.

I got this t-shirt a few months ago and have been wearing it non stop, Calvin Klein is definitely having a moment and I am a complete sucker for it. I even have the matching jumper, which is completely unnecessary.

The skirt was a bargain find in the sale at work and the coat is now also a bargain. Unfortunately I paid the full price for it, but I would again.
I love the coat, its beautiful and amazing quality, If you are looking for an good winter coat thats more of a classic style I cant recommend this one enough.
I'm clearly in love it with and reduced to half price I think its a steal.

I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things, and I want to wish everyone a happy 2016 and say a big thank you for sticking with me for all this time!
It really does mean so much.
